About the event

I will never forget April 2022 when my mother's primary care physician said to me over the phone, "given the decline in your mom's disease I believe she's a strong candidate for home hospice." I hung up the phone and CRIED IN MY CAR then bought cookies from the local bakery to wallow in my sadness (i'm pretty sure I documented this on instagram).    I share this memory because at that time I didn't understand the power of home hospice for my mom who was living with late stage Alzheimer's disease and I definitely thought that my doctor mentioning hospice to me at that moment meant she was dying the exact next day and that I was "giving up" on her.  Fast forward two years and I know that those are definite fears, but they do not represent the power of the compassion, support and individualized comfort care that home hospice can provide for families.

In this workshop we will cover the big three:

  • What is home hospice? Why would I choose to leverage home hospice for my loved one that is terminally ill?
  • What does support and community look like with home hospice for you the caregiver and your loved one?
  • How to make the most of the home hospice benefit

Come to this workshop to learn more so that you are equipped with knowledge and insights to make informed decisions for yourself or your loved one in the future.

My hope and desire is that families are equipped with knowledge BEFORE they need it so that they can be the best advocates for their people...and so that they can operate from a place of confidence rather than fear. You and your loved one deserve that.

Also, I'm sharing all that I learned from my lived experience--- directly from the perspective of a current family caregiver so I'll be able to help you navigate all the feelings of this experience from a human that has lived in it versus just working for it.
